Happy Holidays from Liquidnet

Now in its 11th year, Liquidnet kids for kids channels children’s creativity to make a difference through charitable giving. Liquidnet Members’, partners’, and employees’ children were all invited to create a drawing based on the theme “How will you make a difference?” Maeve, age 8, won a $250 GlobalGiving gift card to support the charitable project of her choice. All other kids who participated will receive a $50 GlobalGiving gift card and will appear in the printed Liquidnet kids for kids book.

Executing Australian Blocks

A recent study concluded that where you execute large trades can have a significant impact on performance. Volatility was shown to be, on average, 250% higher for other brokers relative to Liquidnet in the one minute prior to a block execution. Significantly increased volatility prior to a block execution is an indicator of information leakage, which can have an adverse effect on execution quality. Read the summary paper here.

Liquidnet Launches Fixed Income Dark Pool to Centralize Institutional Trading of Corporate Bonds

Liquidnet, the global institutional trading network, today announced the launch of their Fixed Income dark pool that facilitates direct, peer-to-peer trading of corporate bonds among asset managers in the US, Canada and Europe, creating a much-needed hub of institutional liquidity. Liquidnet has enrolled more than 120 asset managers, representing a critical mass of liquidity and a sizeable portion of assets under management for high yield and investment grade bonds in the US. At launch, the platform will enable trading for US and European corporate bonds (high yield and investment grade), emerging market corporate bonds, and European convertible bonds.

Liquidnet to Launch Institutional Dark Pool for Corporate Bonds with Connectivity to Seven Major OMS Providers

Liquidnet, the global institutional trading network, today announced that it is integrating with seven Order Management Systems (OMS) to provide direct connectivity into the first dark pool for corporate bonds which is scheduled to launch in Q3. Sourcing Liquidity Takes Center Stage as Confidence in Equity Inflows Returns, according to Global Survey of Buy Side Traders

Sourcing sufficient liquidity to get large trades done is the top concern of institutional traders globally, according to a survey conducted by Liquidnet, the global institutional trading network. Even as confidence in equity inflows returns, 84% of the survey’s respondents were either “concerned” or “very concerned” about being able to source liquidity in the current market. Liquidnet’s annual Institutional Voice survey canvassed the views of more than 115 buy-side equity traders around the globe.
